Learn the GHOST DANCE
as we dance in the street
among Night Creatures.
You’ll be taught simple moves,
then we’ll put the music on
and we’ll be dancing in the street!
WHERE:
Historic Oakwood in downtown Raleigh.
Meet right outside the Oakwood Cemetery Gate
at 700 Oakwood Ave. by 8:00pm.
PARKING:
Park anywhere along the side streets.
There’s plenty of parking.
Note that this event takes place
OUTSIDE the cemetery.
TIME:
We begin at 8:00 pm.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
This event should last about 1 hour.
COST: $5
Please have exact change (cash).
All money collected goes to help prevent cruelty to animals.

This event is canceled if it rains in Raleigh that night.

IS THIS A CHILD-FRIENDLY EVENT?
This is mostly an event for adults and teens, tho kids can join in. However, the steps will be too challenging for small children.
IS PARKING A PROBLEM?
There’s plenty of parking, tho you may have to walk a block or two. Park anywhere on the surrounding neighborhood streets.
HOW IS THIS EVENT DIFFERENT FROM PAST YEARS?
In past years, we’ve had storytellers telling haunted tales and over a dozen ‘Night Creatures’ who performed scary acts as we walked the streets. Everyone loved the ZOMBIE DANCE at the end, with several people saying it was their favorite part of the evening. So to be different, we decided to have the entire evening be a GHOST DANCE!
HOW WILL I FIND THE CHECK-IN DESK?
Our sign-in desk is in front of the cemetery gate (a little to the left of the gate, as you face the gate from the street).
DOES THIS TAKE PLACE IN THE CEMETERY?
No. The cemetery closes at dark except when they have an event. We dance outside the gate, and have staff protecting us from cars and traffic.
DO WE WEAR COSTUMES?
It would be fun if you wear a costume, but it’s optional. Some do, some don’t.
